ISLAMABAD: On Thursday Prime Minister of Pakistan
Imran Khan on launched Digital Pakistan Vision.

This vision is intended to herald a technologically
driven environment for the tech-savvy youth.
While addressing the ceremony in the prime minister office
he said that people who make tough decisions and set goals of their lives make
progress and definitely always succeed. He further said that previous
government did not focus on technology. It should have been focused long ago.
PTI is entirely focusing on improving the country’s
economy, all the government institutions were running in deficit when we came
into power. But within a short period of time, with the hard work and tough
decisions taken economy has improved and it has been recognized by
international financial institutions.
Imran Khan went on to say that we are going to
introduced the e-governance for the government and private sector to work
towards a digitally progressive country and to eliminate corruption from the
country. E-governance of government sector will accelerate the system and
provide facilitation to the general public.
He said that digitalization will spur creative skills
and expertise of our youth. And any resistance in the way will be overcome.

Tania Aidrus, now the head of Digital Pakistan Vision is
a senior Google executive who quit her job to lead the vision (initiative) thanked
PM for giving her an opportunity to contribute back to Pakistan, she further
that inshallah with everyone’s support we will make Digital Pakistan Vision a
reality.
Remember that Prime minster Imran khan reached out to
Tania Aidrus and convinced her to invest her technical skills (potential) in
Pakistan.
Aidrus said that she was so confident and self-assertive
regarding opportunities in Pakistan because approximately more than 100 million
people are below the ago 25. It indicates that those people who are retiring in
the next 20 years, three young people will enter the workforce.
Tania Aidrus has been living in the United States over
that last twenty years, but now, as a head of digital Pakistan wants to see
Pakistan on the world map of technology.
While addressing the inaugural session, she asserted
that we, as diaspora, try our best to make contributions in favour Pakistan and
also, showcase our culture to the world the best we can.
With her skills and expertise, ambitions and bullish attitude she plans to help Pakistan evolve in the technological world by
becoming truly digital.
The tech chief consultants focused on creating an enabling
environment, result-oriented policies and the digital building blocks which do
not restraint innovation.
In the end, Aidrus
introduced the five strategic pillars which will form the basis of the new
digital initiative:
Access and Connectivity
that is a fundamental right
we need to make sure that the internet is available to every Pakistani in rural and
urban areas.
Digital infrastructure
skills to do daily tasks
using smart-phones in a secure and faster way.
E-Governance
Digitization of intra-government
operations with the help of the latest technology to provide public services to all
Pakistanis.
Digital Skills and Expertise
A majority of our tech
graduates do not have a particular set of competencies and skills that allow them to function
and participate fully in the digital world.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
An enabling environment for
start-ups to flourish.
At the end of her speech,
she said that today as a nation we need to make a commitment that we are ready
to be a part of the revolution and if we succeed country will experience a quantum
leap ahead.
