Modi slammed as death toll in New Delhi violence is continuously rising
At least 42 people have been killed and hundreds wounded in violence across the India capital (New Delhi). The violence erupted across India over citizen amendment act. The violence erupted on 23 February 2020 when thousands of minorities in India were protesting against a controversial law passed by Modi's Hindu nationalist government. Indian Muslims are claiming that this legislation is a clear discrimination against them. According to the opposition parties, citizen amendment act (CAA) undermines secular constitution of India. This legislation is providing citizenship to immigrants from neighbouring countries but excludes Muslims. The citizenship law has taken a dangerous turn and sparked months of nationwide protests.
