Scientists have suggested an immediate ban on the sale of animals in wildlife markets to avoid any future outbreaks, the BBC reports.
The report states that pangolin is the most smuggled animal worldwide, which is also used in food especially in china and traditional medicine.
Hong Kong University-based research founder Dr Tommy Lim says that "Two groups of viruses have been detected in a pangolin smuggled into China from Malaysia, but the secondary role of the virus in the SARS and COVID-19 epidemic has yet to be confirmed."
To prevent the transmission of animal-to-human epidemics in the future, sales of these wildlife markets must be stopped quickly and strongly.

Dr Lim said the discovery of the virus in smuggled pangolin from Malaysia also raised the question of where the virus was transmitted to them.
While the exact cause of the outbreak of the Coronavirus has not yet been revealed, some scientists have shown the possibility that bats and pangolin are the cause of the virus, but a final opinion has not yet been finalized.
